Stewardship

A message from our vicar The Reverend Clive Potter

Money talk and Faith do not easily mix, but I have recently been made aware of the increasing financial burden upon many Churches and ours is no exception.

We can see the issue as far back as the time of St. Paul. He writes in 2 Corinthians 9:6 “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."

Our Church needs support of all kinds, and finance cannot be ignored. Yet many people (clergy included), find it difficult to raise the subject. Yet finance is essential in our task to bring the message of God’s love to our present community and those who follow. We live in a challenging world. Our practical needs will not go away. We need your help. Thank you.

Our future and challenge as your Parish Church

We believe in serving our local and worldwide community with Christian love and commitment. For this we need to involve many people. The task is always great, but with the care and devotion of many we can achieve great things, such as:

  • Mission: both here and overseas, spreading the love of God.
  • Schools and young people: We actively support our local schools, and the Chandler is our Church school.
  • Pastoral work and care in the Community: We have a team of people who support others and serve our community with love and care.
  • Weddings, Baptisms and funerals: We are here for all our community both Church members and all local people.
  • Training for ministry work: This includes funding and time commitment, our Church is blessed with a team of people who give of their time in a variety of ways. Initiatives include Children’s work, Church gardening, cleaning, fellowship groups and more.

With your help our Community style Church can continue to support and serve our community for now and the years to come. After all the Church has been around for over 2000 years and in Milford for nearly 200 years
